PGI and exams

If you are a resident doctor, and if you are in PGI, and if you are alive.....then there is one thing that never leaves you alone. And that is exams. You get in with one.., you survive with many and finally get out after passing a big one. And thats not all, after this there are many more to pass....USMLE, PLAB, DNB, MCH, DM, Marriage, kids etc etc.
The MD/MS entrance exams just got declared, a good time to go over the whole process.


Its cold, and these brave souls are out there...for the truth is out there.

Can u handle the truth?

Where am I on this bloody list??

Its time to go home......next time i will crack this goddam exam..

For those not successful, its a long walk back home....to fight another day or another battle.

And for those who make it......there is a lot of.....

There is something wrong with blogger tonight, cant get through, so flickr it is. Just to see whether this works.
This is the 3rd in series of the Hola Mohalla pictures. A young warrior looks on as elders get all the attention and wonders when his turn may come.
Looking at this young boy, cant help but thinking how fast Punjab is changing within a decade. Seein unshorn hair and turbans is an exception rather than the norm, boys no longer get get high on girls and poppy husk or alcohol, Heroin is the new poison.
All while the elders and leaders fight out their battles of hypocrisy and corruption.
I wonder where we changed and became what we are today!

Hola Mohalla is an annual festival held at the Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Anandpur sahib in March or April and culminates on the day of Holi. The highlight is a procession by the Nihang Singhs, a charming lot of sikhs who were originally the Sikh army suicide squad. Their language is still full of charming braggadasio and its a whole lot of fun. The gentleman above is one Sardar Major Singh. That turban uses up 400 m of cloth and weighs approx 35 kgs. The OPDs are very light....either its too cold for the drug dependent individuals to get their fix or no one is interested in getting any manner of treatment. Consequently, there are new kinds of patients coming in for treatment.
This feline peered in with a chief complaint of Rodent dependence syndrome, currently in withdrawal. Gave it the address of a certain rodent I know. Let the best mammal win!!
