Rose Festival

I took part in the photography competition organised by Chandigarh tourism on the occasion of the Rose festival. And well, I won a runners-up prize. A thousand bucks cant be all that bad!!!

The prize-winner.

“For an instant, love can transform the world.”

The ones that are on the exhibition.....

“He that gives good advice, builds with one hand; he that gives good counsel and example, builds with both; but he that gives good admonition and bad example, builds with one hand and pulls down with the other.”

“Life is a rose; beware of the thorns.”

“Vanity keeps persons in favor with themselves who are out of favor with all others”

The Rose
By Nana Mouskouri?

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love it is a a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
And you it’s only seed

It’s the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It’s the dream, afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It’s the one, who won’t be taken
Who can not seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snow
Lives a seed, that with the sun’s love
In the spring becomes the rose

Great photos. I was checking out other blogs by psychiatrists and I especially like your photographs - well done on the competition. All the very best. Michelle
